SALT offers college-level, biblically based, practical courses with accredited units that may apply toward undergraduate or master's degree programs.
CHM 5203 – Dynamics of Servant Leadership Instructor: Robert Damon
This course introduces the principles and practice of servant leadership. Explore what it means to be a servant leader, why servant leadership matters, and how servant leaders function within the church and the world to which Christ sends us.
EVG 3840 – Relational [Personal] Evangelism Instructor: Tom Kopp
Consider the motivation for personal evangelism and examine various methods of sharing the gospel. Develop greater confidence and competence in leading people toward a point of decision and build a strong biblical model for reaching the world with and for Christ.
BIB 5115 – Bible Study Methods & Tools Instructor: Dr. Curtis McGinnis
Develop the ability to interpret the Bible with confidence and accuracy. This course introduces the basic principles of exegesis and hermeneutics, along with practical tools and resources for studying Scripture within its historical and literary context.

Courses are conveniently delivered and offer a collaborative student learning environment, designed to be instantly applicable to real-life ministry situations.
SALT students learn from seasoned, well-respected ministry experts. Guest lecturers share their extensive knowledge and first-hand experiences, teaching invaluable principles for exceptional ministry leadership.

Our Certificates of Ministry equip emerging leaders with the knowledge and skills needed for effective and relevant ministry. Through SALT courses, leaders strengthen their practical ministry skills and spiritual health, and form a strong Biblical foundation from which to serve others. Ministry staff, interns, and church members will all benefit from SALT courses. Upon completing 12 units in this SALT program, (four 3-unit courses), each student will receive a Ministry Certificate from Hope International University. Courses also may be audited (no credits).
